Misinformation And Confusion by Rev. Ed Butler
So much information these days is either misinformation or disinformation from the government or the media, which leads to mass confusion among the populace.
On the other hand, most people would not suspect that the Holy Bible could possibly be misleading, and of course, in the original Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament, the Scriptures are completely reliable.
The English translations, however, contain some troublesome words, two of which are “Gentile” and “Jew.” The word “Gentiles” is misinterpreted to mean non-Jew, Caucasians in particular, since Jews claim to be Old Testament Israelites. Nothing could be more wrong! Gentile is a mistranslation of the Greek word “ethnos” which means ethnic, race, or nation. The correct usage of “ethnos” in the Bible refers to races other than Israelites. It is problematic when used to refer to non-Jews, because the Israelite race is none other than Caucasians whose history is traced back to the Caucasus Mountains where the tribes of Israel were held captive from 721 B.C. until about 620 B.C.
