IS AMERICA A CHRISTIAN NATION?
This question is often discussed and debated, but the evidence is ignored, denied, or hidden, so many people have no clear understanding of the issue.
History, as taught in schools, colleges, universities, churches, and even Christian universities, never settles the question of the foundation of America. Overlooked is the fact that the Christian clergy exercised as much influence as the political leaders before and during the American Revolution.
History books omit the great story of Pastor Jonas Clark and the stalwart farmers and merchants of his congregation of the Lexington Church. Pastor Clark and his men gathered with muskets in hand on the church yard at midnight. In hushed tones, they waited in the moonlight until dawn when they met the British Redcoats who arrived on April 19, 1775. The captain of the marauders shouted a command, “Throw down your arms and disperse.” Undaunted, those Christian soldiers stood their ground. The captain repeated, “Throw down your arms and disperse.” As the smoke from the muskets cleared, seven of those stalwart Lexington men lay motionless on the church ground and on the church steps. However, they routed the British marauders.
It has been said with more than a grain of truth that except for the Christian clergy, the American Revolution would not have succeeded in gaining liberty and independence. Those learned men of the clergy prepared their people from the pulpit on the importance of civil, political, and religious liberty.
Furthermore, every state constitution recognizes the authority of Divine Providence of the Almighty Lord in the affairs of state.
The irrefutable truth, however, that proves that America was founded on Christianity is the unmistakable evidence that America’s houses of worship are Christian churches – not Buddhist temples, not Hindu temples, not Muslim mosques, not Jewish synagogues, Christian churches, for Heaven’s sake!
Sadly though, the Christian churches have been liberalized, Judaized, and neutralized. Liberal churches have abandoned their Biblical base of moral values. “Conservative” churches, on the other hand, have embraced Judeo-Christianity, claiming that Jews are the Israelite people of Old Testament history. Thus, both “liberal” and “conservative” churches have failed to maintain true Biblical doctrine.
So, was America founded on Biblical Christianity? Yes indeed! The fact remains that America was founded on true Biblical Christianity, and the solution to the current dilemma is a return to the doctrines of the Bible and the U.S. Constitution.
